PAI COIN HARD FORK ANNOUNCEMENT
The v3.0.0 hard fork commenced on Tuesday, September 28 when Block 205953 was mined. Following this, the development team observed that unexpected outside mining activity was occurring, despite the fact that the specific purpose of this fork was to subdue it.
Based on the assumption that outside mining activity would cease, one of the effects of the hard fork was to significantly lower the network difficulty. As a result of that flawed assumption, the block find rate has increased substantially until the network difficulty automatically readjusts to a balanced level.
While the immediate outcome of this fork is suboptimal, the development team remains dedicated to finding a solution to this nuisance. There is no fundamental flaw in the blockchain nor the update itself, despite v3.0.0 having not achieved its intended goal.
